Troy City Council meets Monday, Oct. 5, at City Hall, and the Fire Department opens all six stations Sunday, Oct. 4, for National Fire Prevention Week. The library runs teen programs, an author talk and two escape rooms across the window, the police and fire departments face off at the Battle of the Badges Friday, Oct. 9, and the city's Family Fall Fest and a Troy Historic Village cemetery tour fill Saturday, Oct. 10. Friday, October 2 – Saturday, October 3
Baby Play meets at the library Friday, Oct. 2, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, the Troy Nature Society's photo club leads Photo Walks 8-10 a.m. at the Stage Nature Center; registration is required, the fee is $2, free for members, and the listing gives it as open to all ages. The library follows with Saturday Family Storytime at 10:30 a.m. and Pumpkins with Character! at 1 p.m.
Troy and Athens play across the window; those games, and last week's results, run in the separate Troy High School Sports edition.
Sunday, October 4 – Monday, October 5
The Troy Fire Department's annual open house runs 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, at all six stations, led by Station 1 at 1019 E. Big Beaver Road, marking the start of National Fire Prevention Week. No registration is required.
Monday, Oct. 5, Troy City Council meets at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall, 500 W. Big Beaver Road. At the library: Babytime at 10 a.m., Paws to Read! at 4:15 p.m. and the Teen Advisory Board's Halloween party at 5 p.m.
Tuesday, October 6 – Wednesday, October 7
Tuesday, Oct. 6, a Red Cross Blood Drive runs at noon at the Troy Community Center, 3179 Livernois, and the Troy school board holds a workshop. At the library: Toddlertime at 10 a.m., Introduction to Microsoft Excel at 4 p.m. and Athletic Recruitment and the College Admissions Process at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, the library holds Rhyme Time at 10 a.m. and opens its Mini Haunted House: Teen Edition at 6 p.m.
Thursday, October 8
Troy schools hold half-day conferences Thursday and Friday, Oct. 8-9. At the library: All Ages Storytime at 10 a.m., TPL Author Talks: “The Ascent of Rauschenberg” with Smithsonian curator Carolyn Russo and a Shibori Tie-Dye Workshop, both at 2 p.m., then The Pen and Paper Society: Teen Edition at 6 p.m. and, at 7 p.m., both Family Storytime and Keeping Your Money Safe & Avoiding Scams.
Friday, October 9
A second Red Cross Blood Drive runs at 10 a.m. at the Troy Community Center. The library runs Baby Play at 10:30 a.m. and two escape rooms, Five Little Pumpkins (K-3) at 2 p.m. and Monster Mayhem (Gr. 4-6) at 3:15 p.m. The Troy Nature Society's Owl Encounters, registration required, visits the Stage Nature Center's rehabilitated owls 5-6 p.m., $5. The 2nd Annual Battle of the Badges pits the city's police and fire departments against each other at Flynn Park, first pitch at 7 p.m.; ticket information has not been posted.
Saturday, October 10
The city's Family Fall Fest runs 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Troy Community Center, with bounce houses, cider and doughnuts, face painting, hayrides and a pumpkin patch; the listing calls the activities free and invites families in Halloween costumes. The listing gives the date as Saturday, Oct. 10; the event map posted on the same recreation page gives “Saturday, Oct. 12, 2026.” Neither is resolved here.
The Troy Historic Village's Odd Deaths & Unique Markers Cemetery Tour visits Crooks Road Cemetery, 3701 Crooks Road, rain or shine; tickets are $10, or $7 for Troy Historical Society members.
